The Benefits of Adding a Cabin Air Filter Inventory
Types of Cabin Air Filters
Currently, two types of filters are available: filters with charcoal impregnated media and those with electrostatic medium. They both work equally well; however, the filter with charcoal impregnated media neutralizes odors in addition to particles that degrade air quality. The engineers at ECOGARD recommend that you replace the filter with the type that the manufacturer installed in the vehicle, though you may switch types if an alternate type that fits is available.
Replacing the Cabin Air Filter
- The location of a vehicle’s cabin air filter;
- The time it takes to replace the filter; and
- Whether tools are needed to get the job done right
The engineers at ECOGARD have replaced cabin air filters in all types of vehicles; thus, they know how long it takes, and whether you need tools for the job. In many cases, the only tools you need are your hands. Each ECOGARD filter comes with instructions, so if you’ve never done a cabin filter on a particular model, you won’t have to take the time to look it up.

If you’re a quick lube shop, you’ll want to stock only cabin filters that are replaceable in a few minutes. When you choose inventory from ECOGARD, choose only the cabin air filters for the most popular vehicles that pass through your doors, and those that take less than 15 to 20 minutes to replace.
If you are an automotive repair shop, stocking filters for the most popular vehicles that pass through the door is even easier. You don’t have to worry as to whether replacing the filter is quick and easy or takes 45 minutes, since your customers don’t expect their vehicles to be ready in less than an hour. If you have a filter that is more difficult to replace, you may also up-sell by adding in other parts that may have to be removed while replacing the cabin air filter. For example, you might be able to sell a pair of new wiper blades to the owner of a Ford since some older models require that you remove the wiper blades to get to the cabin air filter.
